    Coloring your slide

Well I finally got around to fill in the engravings on my slide! Does anyone do this to their guns? I just did mine and they look great.. I still need to do some additional cleaning of the slide to get off some of the excess crayon.

Did you use crayon or paint?

I did it on my GLOCK 27. It looks great and makes the letters "pop" out. The only complaint I have is that it wears out when I have the gun in its holster, but I can fix it easily.

I was afraid that the crayon was going to melt when I shot a lot of rounds, but that was completely unfounded, as I shot over 500 rounds through it and nothing melted at all.

Remember my M&P? I used white nail polish for it. In hindsight, it would have been easier to do, and easier to replace using a wax pencil.

I do like your polished slide release though. Stands out nicely. Well done Rollin.

I used some pink nail polish and then acetone to wipe off excess. It worked well. Fun stuff.

I think I'll have to attack my M&P9 with wax pencils once it's in my hands...

Yup. It's my carry gun and I carry to protect my girls. The pink always reminds me of them. Plus most guys won't want to use my gun!
