It's either the slide stop's mag follower engagement surface isn't fitted right, or you're bumping it with your thumb, or the ammunition is out of spec.

While it may possibly be you, Kimbers are somewhat notorious for having slide stops out of spec; for a while they used 9mm slide stops on their .45acp models which caused a lot of these issues. I have an Ultra CDP II that went back to the factory twice for this issue but it's finally correct now.
"You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
"What we get away with isn't usually the same as what's good for us"
"An extended slide stop is the second most useless part you can put on a 1911"

"While Ruger DA revolvers may be built like a tank, they have the aesthetics of one also,
although I suppose there are a few tanks which I owe an apology to for that remark"

      This IS normal function.

Don't file anything unless you want to void your factory warranty.
Don't fire +P unless you install a stronger mainspring Or your slide will end up with flattened stops. Your Kimber may or may not have a buffer. Depending on the model.

Take off the slide, put the slide stop back in, and put a loaded magazine into the frame. You should be able to see if the bullet is making contact with the inside of the slide stop. I had this issue with my kimber with multiple types of factory ammunition and mags.
The capitalist economic model is fundamentally flawed. It is not self sustaining, and can only maintain itself with constant growth. Obviously infinite growth is impossible, so the question is not whether the economy will collapse, but when.

Get your guns, ammo, and food while the stores still stock them. Prepare yourself now, because when the meltdown comes it will be too late.
