How well does the lwd compensator work?

I am interested in getting the lone wolf compensator that threads onto the lone wolf threaded barrels to help get rid of recoil, how well do these work? is it worth the cash?

Lone Wolf Arms is the largest manufacturer of aftermarket parts for Glocks. We also have M&P Shield, Beretta/Taurus, and Browning Hi-Power parts.

Unless you're shooting matches, it isn't much of any help, and the threaded barrel for the comp could become a problem.

I went through a phase of putting comps on all sorts of pistols in different calibers, and came to the conclusion that the only thing they're good for is match use - if you're not shooting matches, you're wasting time and money fooling with 'em.
The way some gunshop clerks spout off, you'd think that they invented gunpowder and the repeating rifle, and sat on the Supreme Court as well.

Well Thanks for the heads up, What's your thought on the lonewolf ported barrel? I am buying a 40cal barrel to cut down costs on ammo for my glock 32. I am either thinking the lonewolf ported barrel, lonewolf threaded barrel with flash hider, or just a glock 23 barrel. any advice?
      Thanks again.

If I am correct, you can't just swap a 23 barrel into your G32. you would need a "conversion" barrel.

My opinion of ported barrels in handguns is that recoil reduction, if any, is more than outweighed by the increase in muzzle blast. If you are only trying to reduce recoil and ammunition costs, why not go with a 9mm conversion barrel?

          (A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward
          handgrip, or silencer.
          (B) A second handgrip.
          (C) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the
barrel that allows the bearer to fire the weapon without burning his or
her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.
          (D) The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location
          outside of the pistol grip.
          (5) A semiautomatic pistol with a fixed magazine that has the capacity
to accept more than 10 rounds.

I thought you just have to locktite the flash hider on so it's not removable, I may be wrong

cadjak- I do recall reading that you are able to swap barrels and your ready to go, with the 9mm conversion, I'd have to buy the 9mm spring, mags, and conversion barrel, thus why I opted to go with the 40 cal barrel. of course now you have me thinking about just going with the 9mm conversion I'll gather the costs of the 9mm conversion and go from there.

I don't have the compensator but I do have a Lone Wolf 9mm conversion barrel that is extended and ported. It does make the gun shoot just a tiny bit softer but it's really not a big difference; maybe a little less muzzle flip. It is quite fun though rapid firing with it because you are able to come back on target so fast. The barrel ran me $120-130 or so and the mags are $25 new each. You can find used 10 rounders cheap from people outside California who have no need for them.

The muzzle device needs to be permanently attached. I don't recall the word for it, but I'm sure someone can help you out with that.

This is the main problem with comps in California - once the thing is mounted on a threaded barrel, you have a potential felony on your hands on one side, and a pistol whose barrel can't be removed from the slide on the other.

It just isn't worth the effort unless you're a serious match competitor, or you registered the thing as an AW.

On the Glocks I've seen the Compensators were pinned in place. (threaded on and pinned permanently)

However...I've seen dozens of Compensated weapons at various Competition Matches that were running with normal threaded (screw on type) compensators.

I have too, and some people, for whatever reason, don't believe that AW laws apply to competition guns.

In the arena that matches exist, it isn't like there are DOJ BOF lurkers behind every bush, but I can see where a race gun with high-caps and a threaded barrel could lead to issues in an encounter with the wrong guy on the wrong day.
