    KIMBERS SUCKY CUSTOMER SERVICE..

Hey everyone I need some advice on what I should or can do with the problem Im having with kimbers customers service. I called them up today to see what they could do about my kimber that shoots 4" to the right and 2" down. Oh yeah I just purchased the gun new 2 months ago. I first talk to John in customer service and he said I could send the slide in and they could adjust the sights over but they cant do anything about the 2" drop. So I talk to Ann which is the manager in customer service and she told me the same thing but she said if I wanted the 2" drop fix they would have to charge me a couple houndred dollars or I can buy new adjustable sights since mine are fixed night sights. So whats going on is I paid $1400 for a BRAND NEW gun 2 months ago that is not accurate at all and I have to pay a lot more money to fix the problem or else kimber wont do anything about the 2" drop. Does anyone have any advice for me? Thank you

You've done bench testing with it? Has a more proficient shooter done testing with the same results?

Have you shot the gun anyother time? If so, did it do it before?

Easy to fix without sending back to Kimber. Drift the rear sight to the left until you get the desired sight in and replace the front sight with a shorter height by about .10" (available from Fusion or Midway USA). If you're in the IE, I can show you how. I'm always around Riverside Magnum Range. Remember, when you send it back to Kimber, you have to pay for the overnight shipping. Also, that's why I like Springfields and Series 70s. They shoot great!!

Even though I had a problem with one of my Kimbers, their CS was great.

I'm willing to bet that they will start off with the idea that it's your shooting and not the piece that is the cause of the poi.

They'll test from a rest and see what's up, and should correct from there.

As another poster stated, it's no big mechanical issue, rear sight pushed to the left, short front sight.

Kimber should correct for free, and I'll bet they will.

I looked thru the posts form you and you did an awful lot of stuff to it so not sure why you're blaming Kimber...

You want Kimber to pay? Does their warranty service reimburse you for
overnight shipping? Do they prepay it? Just asking because sending a
handgun could cost you $70 out of your pocket. Pete

I don't see any reason why Kimber should not pay for the repair (include the shipping as well). Part of that $1.4k OP pay for the pistol, some of that money was to guaranty the quality of pistol. When they can't deliver that, at least they can do is to fix the mistake and pay for they shipping.

http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=378427 OP, you might want to take it back to the gunsmith who did all these upgrades. This has nothing to do with Kimber.

I've had awesome experiences with their CS. The windage is a very simple thing to adjust. What distance are you shooting at? That will have a lot to do with the 2" drop. I don't know how experienced of a shooter you or the other people who you had shoot it are. But, I suggest letting someone who is very experienced shoot it first. You could be using too much or too little (depending on if you are shooting LHed or RHed) trrigger finger. As faar as the drop goes, are you lining up the top of the sights or the dots? Many old school shooters (myself included) have shot with older irons so long that we instinctively aim with the top of the sights instead of using the dots. It took me some practice to relearn how to aim a gun with dot sights.

You really expect kimber to take care of that with a new, possibly badly installed bushing and barrel?

Hey everyone let me set something straight that I should have mentioned before that I have 3 kimbers that I got last year and Im not talking about the one in my other post. The tle/rl is perfect now it was just the bushing. This is about my raptor 2. Also, I just got off the phone today with john the director of quality control and he told me that although the gun is shooting down and to the right its still shooting the same spot every time so all they can do is move the sights over but they wont fix the drop on the aim. I will never buy another kimber!! Thanks anyways to you guys that offered the help and the advice..
