Could you just plug all but one hole in a revolver and it be called a single shot?

Why would you need or want to? If you are looking to import a non rostered revolver, you should be looking into the single ACTION exemption.

What are you looking at getting? Maybe someone here can tell you how easy or hard it would be to convert it into a SA.

I was going to post the same thing. It should be fairly easy. In most designs there's going to be a linkage that pushes the hammer back as you pull the trigger. Pull that linkage and bingo, you *should* have an SA-only action. Until the linkage is re-installed.

Now, you may also have a second issue: the length requirement. It has to be 7.5" long, measured parallel to the barrel. Basically, if the barrel is 4", you're probably going to be OK. 3.5", maybe. 3" or less, probably screwed until you get creative again. (Depends on frame and grip length of course.) The Brits figured out the answer to that class of problem, when concealable handguns were banned:

Take a set of cheap wood grips, drill a hole in one panel pointing backwards, glue a section of dowel rod or something in it...presto, 7.5" here we come.

In fact, NAA could offer such a thing as a regular item and we could buy ANY minirevolver in the catalog .

needs to have a 3" barrel as well as have the 7.5" OAL to fall under the exemption.

well, all the ones that had at least a 3" barrel. which is basically the min-master and the Earl, and they are already roster-exempt as built. anything iwth a <3" barrel wouldn't be roster-exempt, even if the the OAL was >7.5".

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?
