Hey guys, thinking about getting my dad a kimber 45 In stainless. I have about $1200 to spend and would like some input on models and shops I'n the oc area that have a good kimber selection on hand. Any input would be great. Thanks

Go with the Kimber TLE Custom II or even a Raptor II. Not sure of any shops in the OC area. But any Kimber dealers should have atleast a TLE on hand.Originally posted by OutlawDon -

I have an Eclipse and have fired my buddy's stainless Kimber. There is a big weight difference in the two. The stainless is much lighter and the front strap is not checkered. Depending on how much experience your dad has shooting 1911s this may make a big difference to him.
I really prefer the front strap checkering after comparing the two. The weight does not make that big a deal for me since I do not carry my Kimber. In fact I prefer it when rapid firing.NRA LIFE MEMBERComment
