    Bitterroot Valley 300grain Bear Load....

Just curious I bought some of these rounds the other day since 300grain seemed like a good load for black bears during our nevada camping trips. I also have Bear Mace/pepper spray which I'd use first if at all possible.

Not really finding much info on these rds online anyone used em or know anything about em??

    Thanks guys!!

Just wondering, how many documented bear attacks in Nevada in say, the last 15 years?

Haven't gone to their site to look at what caliber you might be talking about, but I've shot 1,000's of their .40 rounds and found them to be great!

        300grain JFP @10yards = 1099fps & 804ft./lb.

As far as Death Valley smarty, more than you might think. Google is your friend. Also I'll be in Oregon. Not a lot of attacks, but enough to make ya think. Also one of the attacks I read about happened where I go camping i.e. Desolation Wilderness so I'd like to be perpared iffn ya know what I mean.

It's getting to be a rare event to get a response on topic here; most are useless 1 liners devoid of any cogent viewpoint. And it never fails that the authors really have NFI what they are talking about. I'm surprised you didnt get any of the self appointed safety monitors/legal advisers advising of some inane safety arcana or legal minutiae regarding grizzly bear hunting in Antarctica...

That being said, I like the Hornady 300gr SP's for Rhino attacks while in Rhodesia. Natchez has them for 24.00 which is an insanely good price as cheapo Magtech 240 grains FMj's sell for 35+ in the gunshops. Oh I'm talking .454 casull here, you didnt mention caliber, so I assumed... One thing about the heavy/hot .454 loads- the emties don't come out of the cylinder willingly, something that seems common with the Ruger Casulls, I have just learned to live with it.
