I have a RIA tactical and I noticed on a review that they have full length guide rods and even noticed in a picture that the guide rod is flush with the barrel. I noticed mine is recessed about a 1/4 inch. Did they stop using full length or is something up with mine?

I have a new Ria tactical and the guide rod is flush when the slide is back. When the slide is forward position the rod is tucked in the plug.
had lots of fun with my new pistol today, 500 rounds down the pipe and on the way to broken in. Had a few problems with ftc but it might be the reload dia. or oal. .We will do as we will do because I am me and you are you.Comment

I don't think there is anything wrong with yours I have seen other full length guide rods that are about a 1/4 inch short tooLast edited by Vanilla Gorilla; 01-03-2011, 12:36 AM.-John McClaneThat punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.Comment

on mine it is set back a bit when the slide is forward and it is flush when the slide is locked back. I think this is done so you can field strip the pistol without any tools. If it was flush with the barrel with the slide forward it would be very difficult to push the plug in to take the pistol.Comment

That is part of what he was experiencing. PM The_Dude and ask him about the return process. Sounds like they have a real sharp cookie doing warranty work over in Nevada.

Not to take away from anyone here but for RIA questions you might also want to try

Then just go to the RIA/Arsmcorp section
For some reason it doesn't want to let me cut and paste the URL. Think i got it to work now.USN (SS) Retired

Mind your manners there. They have about zero sense of humor. I got an infraction for mentioning the pretty widely known fact that newer Ruger P90 mags are crap...Not to take away from anyone here but for RIA questions you might also want to try
