    CA ok bobtail 1911's?

Did a search but didn't find anywhere that listed this out.

What are the 1911's with factory bobtails that are on the CA DOJ roster? I know you can do your own bobtail or have a smith do it but I'm looking for guns that come bobtailed from the manufacturer.

Also, can you bobtail an officer's size frame or is it just full size and commander?

Edit: Ideally I'm trying to find a CA ok bobtailed commander slide/Officers frame...if such an animal exists.

✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟

I think the only two are the following:

      Ed Brown Cobra Carry ($2500ish)

Dan Wesson Classic Bobtail ($1600 ish)

While it can be done on a custom basis...almost anything can be done to a 1911 if you throw enough money at it...you won't find a factory bobtailed Officer ACP frame pistol. This is because the bobtails you are seeing are already using an OACP length MSH...there isn't a shorter one on the market

CORRECTION: Bobtails use an officer's length mainspring, not mainspring housing. Bobtailed MSH are full size not officer's.

You're right, I'm just so used to typing MSH...isn't it both the main spring and strut?
