    Browning Buckmarks

Im looking at getting a Buckmark. I was thinking on tricking it out with a new barrel, red dot, grips, and such but was wonders on what model to start out with. Is it worth it to get a target model and change the barrel and such or go with lets say a camper model and spend the extra on up grades. The is like $250 bucks different between the 2.

the factory special/custom model will save you money and time. You probably couldn't trick it out for less than $250..it always seems to work out this way. Refinishing a custom is always a major expense in itself.

I've got a camper and love it.

So does the 7 year old daughter.

Best part is the monthly bill.

If you're going to trick it out like you say get the cheapest model available. Why pay for the upgraded stock parts when you're going to change them out?

        Here's mine

If you want a Buck Mark to re-barrel, I suggest the Stainless Standard Micro URX. It has the shortest barrel, and has the new URX grips, which are very nice. All you would then need is the new barrel, such as one made by Tactical Solutions, their Picatinny rail, and the red-dot sight.

Aargh, I have no problem with my rugers, but may get a buckmark just so I can get a TacSol upper.

What Tactical Solutions makes for the Buck Mark are barrels, Picatinny rails, and grips. The complete uppers, meaning a barrel+receiver, are only for the Rugers.

I think Tactical solutions no longer offers the ruger barrels since they aren't on the 'safe list' roster of guns for sale. That's where the serial number is on 22/45's isn't it?

If you want to trick it out like you say, then don't waste money on the Target model. However, if you want a very nice shooting .22lr without doing any trick work, the Target is a good choice. I have had mine for quite some time, and it is my favorite plinkng handgun (even over the Sig P226) They shoot very well, and will eat any brand of ammo I have tried.

I got the Field 5.5 and put a Leupold red dot on it... That thing pretty much drives tacks. It likes some ammo better than others... The trigger is very light and crisp. Its a fun little gun.

Yeah, as stated, if you want to trick it out, just get the basic Camper and run with it. The frame is the same as every other Buckmark out there.

I have a Camper that I stuck a rail on and red dot. Fun gun to plink with.

I've got the Varmint model - the thing weighs like 20 pounds and doesn't miss what it's pointed at.

I haven't seen any Tactical Solutions barrels at any Bay Area dealer. I suggest a couple places for ordering online:

Pindad Indonesia punya produk militer yang udah mendunia, bahkan merk satu ini adalah pemasok senjata paling berkualitas yang dapat digunakan oleh tentara militer negara, hingga militer negara luar banyak juga yang menggunakannya.

I have ordered from both places. In terms of barrel color, I suggest matte black over black. It'll better match the finish on your Camper.
