EDIT 2020: To be fair that seems to apply to many Westerners also.

          Sig P225, CZ SP-01, CZ P-01, CZ 75

1911 is nice, but doesn't compare to the fit-in-your-hand like the above models.

Beretta Cougar, and the M&P is nice. (I think they call it a 1911 style grip due to the angle?)

I have no personal experience with the Sigs or the CZ75 but they look similar to the Cougar grip.

                  1911 for me.

                  Runner ups:
*SIG P-series. Comfortable grip, but wrong location for slidestop.
*Browning Hi-Power. Comfortable, similar to 1911 control placement
*HK P2000. Ambi friendly, easy to shoot, mag release lever
*S&W M&P. Very comfortable grip, low bore axis.

                        I had a Cougar, an 8000 compact.

It was sold. IMHO it wasn't very good.

                          I haven't found a pistol yet that I didn't like to shoot.

                          I just love guns.

different people have different hand size, finger length, palm thickness etc.... So what ergonomically feels good to one person might not for another. That being said, I think 1911 is the best feeling pistol in most people's hands. I love the 1911 single stack think profile and grip angle.
