Reloading 45 acp ammo what will I need?

45 ammo is putting a big dent in my wallet. Can anyone help me out or recommend me a list of things I will need to get. Nothing to fancy just wanting to put togeather a cheap setup just enough to get the job done. thanks

Just cruise over to the reloading forum, there a ton of info there. Including what to buy lists. Reloading doesnt actually save you any money. You really just get to shoot more with your budget.

RCBS rock chucked kit it will come with almost everything you will need after that you will need a set of dyes calipers powder bullets brass primers and you are good to go the whole set up - the bullets powder primers and brass will run you round 350 ish
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

Here's some pics of my set up I just loaded some 45 acp tonight I can do about 100 in 2 hours but I am in no rush the best part is it only costs me about 10-15 bucks to reload 100 45 acp if you load 1000 rounds of 45 acp the whole kit has just about paid for itself

This is 100% correct - in fact reloading is quite a bit more expensive. It caused me to buy a second 9mm to shoot all that ammo. Don't question the logic - it's just more expensive.

You can reuse your old brass I buy all my powder primers and bullets from nicks gunworks in Lodi I don't know where you are located but I would just buy your supplys at your favorite gun shop of choice best advice on supplys is to buy in bulk the more you buy the more you save you can pick up a rcbs rock chucker supreme kit at bass pro shop or your local gun shop too I don't know of any good sites to order anything from I would rather support small shops in my area

If you dont have any use brass you can get some in the for sale section or most ranges will sell it by the pound

Id say go with a dillon 550B or the one before it. I thin its called square deal or somethin weird. With my 550 I can load about 400 an hour easy and about 500 if I step up my game, your gonna want a faster machine eventually so might as well start off with it.

Go simple. I have a lee turret press and I load .45 for about $9 for 50 rounds and that is on the high end if I don't get a deal on components. I can load about 100 rounds an hour. Sure you can buy a 700dollar progressive and load quicker but how much do you need. Are you a high end ispda guy who needs 10000 rounds a month or are you doing range work twice a month? If you are a normal recreational shooter you can save a lot. Up front for my setup would be around 200 bucks for a press, dies, tumbler and misc other goods needed. At $9 a box that amortizes quick. I just don't get it when people say you can't save money reloading. Today I loaded 400 rounds of 9mm for around $25 in components reusing brass and not computing my time( by the way hobby time is not a cost). If you enjoy building things you will enjoy reloading and save a lot of money if done right. If you dont enjoy building things stake out walmart for cheap ammo.

don't forget, with these kits, you still need dies. seaters, etc.

I have heard some good things about the Lee Pro 1000 progressive. This kit is for .45ACP for $145 from Midway. A couple of guys I know have these, with one having two of them so each is set up for different calibers. At this price I suppose that is not a bad idea.

This is the setup I got a couple of years ago, and I can load up to 180rds/hr with it. I'd suggest getting both upgrades.

That's what I have, works great. Just don't get the cheap Classic Lee kit where you hammer everything together. I get my brass from the gun shops at about $20/100 rounds new or $10/100 rounds once fired. I'm sure you can get it cheaper if you look around.
