    ....CZ : 75B vs SP-01....

I wanna get my 1st handgun in 9mm, used for mainly range & HD (if needed). Considering CZ. Love the 75B's sleek/slim profile. (considering SAO? or DA/SA?, or decocker model)...PLZ list pros/cons of both.

Also, the SP-01 seems bigger, not sleek, but is recommended by some... It's pros/cons compared to the 75B series??

I've done search, nothing very specific on this...
    Thanks in advance!

my friend has a sp-01. awesome gun! he got a trigger job done on it and it was even better! super smooth and crisp trigger break.

✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟

      I had the SP-01.

It was a bit too front heavy for me.

SP-01's weight definitely comes from the full dust cover. I've heard people say that it helps with recoil since it's heavier. I haven't shot a 75B... But I gotta say I'm most accurate with my SP-01 out of all my handguns. and the trigger seems fine to me. The trigger will break in and is not so bad. Actually the SP-01 was my FIRST handgun, and I've been buying them ever since. haha...

Only complaint (or feature) about the whole series, is that their isn't a whole lotta slide to grab onto while cocking it. I guess it's made for the sling shot method of pulling back the slide? Can't be sure though.

I got the manual safety model (DA/SA), but I think that's the only way the SP-01's come. The 75's still might come in SA only. It being my first handgun, I got kinda paranoid about the decocker, and 'people' say that gunsmiths tried to avoid working on guns with decockers (or maybe I made that up in my mind). Either way you can't go wrong. Have you checked out the SP-01 Phantom? I'm not sure if it's on the list, but it's frame is polymer and could cut down the weight substantially. It's probably top heavy though.

Unless you have really weak wrists, don't worry about the weight differances. Its a metal gun, it will make a man out of ya. Plus when your follow up shots make you look like your shooting rimfire you will be pleased. Go with the SP-01. The slide is low profile to reduce mass under movement. The rails are internal and very smooth. The barrel lockup is tight and for target shooting its one of the very top pistols. Be warned, this gun due to tight tolerances takes a full 1,000 rounds to break in. Or just dry fire the crap out of it.

I had no break in issues with my sp01. I always wanted a 75, then I found the sp, and I was sold. Mine came with nights, a plus for hd. Can't go wrong either way.

What the others said basically. A solid solid piece well built and very nice to shoot.
Slide looked too thin to me first, but have to admit that the slide grooves are of a very aggressive design. Once you grab them, they grip.

I didn't have to break mine in either. Rock n Roll right out of the cheap blue box. Night sights on mine are great as well. I probably wasn't too picky about the trigger because it was my first handgun (actually first gun ever) and I didn't know the difference between trigger creep and differences in feel. I guess I just adjusted to it and it was plenty accurate for my purposes (HD). It ate everything I put in it.

Great first gun either way you go...

for me I like SP-01 litter better , what model U want is all good but if U like to ge triger job done to be like pro? or smooth out ... get SA or stander Safety ...
but I like Decocker model better do not have to worry about any safety ON or OFF.

only think I did not like about CZ is Magazin is cost more then$35 and up

get what U want for price that U can pay and enjoy it

I had this decision earlier this week and personally went with the sp-01. It was $100 more but it did have night sights. I think the sp01 looks better to me but i still like the 75b, the main reason i went sp01 also was it was 9mm and the 75b on sale was .40 and I already have a g22 and wanted something accurate and cheap to shoot. Either way you cannot go wrong with either one.

                          I have a 75B and an SP-01. The SP-01 is more awesomer ;-)

I have an SP01 and now I want a P01 and a 75. Those two are next. My SP01 shoots like a dream, I just switch out the grips, recoil and mainsprings and its perfect.

Just got my P-01, which from my understanding is very similar to the SP-01 but smaller. Shot it for the first time last night and was great. My groups are good but I'm shooting a couple inches to the right...just gotta figure out what I'm doing wrong now.
