    Modifying SA XD 9 ??

I recently bought a Springfiel Armory XD 9 and I was wondering what are some easy and effect modifications that I could have done ? of course I would have a qualified gunsmith do the work.

Maybe like a new trigger ?

If you head over to xdtalk there are a lot of do it yourself trigger jobs or you could always send it in to SA. They do triggers jobs as well. Just dry fire the hell out of it and shoot it a lot. It'll work in nice

I shoot an xd9 tactical in competition and put in a Powder River Match Grade Trigger kit by myself. It reduced my trigger pull to around 3-3.5lbs and pretty much no pre-travel. I was very easy to install and they also have a 3 or 4 part youtube video on how to install it step by step. There is also Springer Precision which have great triggers i've heard. Both companies are great and have awesome customer service.

I have smaller hands than most people so it was a "chore" to change mags quickly so I also installed a extended mag release from Springer Precision and it took me about 5 min to unpackage and install it.

The last thing I have done is put a sand paper grip on it from Talon Grips. Works great and lets me keep a constant grip when its raining or i have sweaty hands from the heat.

I recommend doing these things, especially the trigger job so you can learn how the gun works and how the internal components work together. Also so in the future if something goes wrong you can "diagnose" it easier and not spending a fortune on a gunsmith.

There are a lot of other things you can do. Go to www.springerprecision.com and www.powderriverprecision.com and you can literally see everything you can do to these great guns.
