my dad gave me his p97 and bought a 345. 345 is just the updated version of the '97, so it's a dead-reliable, accurate and easy to use .45. i adore my p97 and the 345 is very similar in weight, feel, etc. only difference is that the 345 has the mag disconnect, loaded chamber indicator, and i believe the decocker is also a safety, whereas my p97 is decock only without any of the other crap. the shape of the grip is a hair different but hardly notable, and it shoots nicely. in a recent shoot i tried them both, back-to-back and aside from the basic functions i mentioned, they're hard to tell apart. like everything ruger, they're well-made, tough, sturdy, reliable, and well-priced. you really can't lose. i say go for it. you won't find anything better anywhere close to the price.

I had a P90 which I loved, then my son bought the P345. After I fired his, I decided I liked it better than my P90. It's lighter and a little smaller, which is good for me because my hands are smaller. It's an excellent gun, and Rugers are great pistols. You'll like it.

I have a P345, it's accurate & reliable. All stainless & polymer so it's "easy care" and makes a good carry piece.

Can't speak on the p345, but I can talk about Ruger as a company and with that I can tell you my p95 is a tank and a joy to shoot. K don't see how you can go wrong with a Ruger. But I will tell you there is another 45 I've heard good things about and that's the RIA 1911.

I like Ruger as well. A friend has the P90 and likes it. I like it as well. Extremely over engineering in regards to parts...That is what makes it rugged.

I have a P345, 1911, and a Springfield XD, all in .45. They are all fine and shoot better than I do. But my preference is the XD- it just works better for me, has very simple operation. I never really felt comfortable with the decock. I have half a dozen Ruger rifles and handguns and they are all top quality.

The Ruger P345 .45ACP wass the second handgun I bought and I have been in love with it ever since.

The polymer/steel combo is easy to take care of, it's tons more accurate than I am, and has never given me one problem. It has a nice weight, feels good when you're lined up on target and recoil is manageable even with 230gr. FMJ's.

It is hands down my favorite handgun and is an excellent value for the price.
