If you live in Arizona you won't be able to ship an off roster weapon to a California FFL. Check the CDOJ Approved list by using GOOGLE.

If it's on the roster, no worries.

If you lived HERE in California you could sell the weapon face to face in a Private Party Transfer. (BUT.. for example..you still could NOT ship it down from San Francisco to Los Angeles..again it has to be face to face if it's not on the roster. If it's on the roster you can have it shipped between FFLs.)

Three perfectly legal exceptions that I can think of:

    1. Convert the weapon to a comply with the single shot exemption (search this forum for info) ship it to an FFL that is willing to take it; transfer it to a customer.

    2. Sell the weapon in Arizona to a Relative (son, daughter, Dad, Mom, Grandpa, Grandma who lives in Arizona) of a California buyer and they can receive the off roster weapon as a Inter Family Transfer. And that weapon can be shipped directly to the California FFL with ID and a gift letter.

    3. Move here, bring the weapon. Then sell it. Roster doesn't matter.

      4. Sell it to a roster exempt CA resident.
Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

To answer your question, no, it's not on the approved list.

Not sure about the legal definition of "Dual Resident". Not sure either the state or the feds view it that way.

I don't think the Feds or California will buy that one.

i think if you have a california drivers license then you are good to go PPT. i have a friend who lives in arizona who sold non roster guns here in cali (STI, CITADEL, TAURUS 1911) with his cali drivers license through PPT. he has properties here and arizona.

                      * i also asked my FFL about this. if you have a california drivers license then you are good to go for PPT.

You're fine to PPT at a California FFL.
