Trigger Break in for CZ P-01

I have read in a few threads that after shooting around 500 rounds the trigger on the P-01 gets smoother. Will dry firing the gun have the same effect on the trigger (using snap caps)? I tried searching but didn't find much. Thanks for the help.

Yes dry firing will help smoothing out the trigger, maybe not as well or as fast as live fire but it will help. By the way I have a SP-01 with over 1200 rounds fired and just sold a P06 to another member with over 800 rounds fired. The DA pulls on both guns are very smooth now.
Im a warmonger baby, I got blood in my eyes and I'm looking at you.

Thats good to hear. I am going to use the P-01 for the 4 day defensive handgun course at front sight in January and am hoping to have the DA pull a little smoothed out by then.

It would also help to change the mainspring to a lighter one. I hear 15# is a good weight.

Tried doing a quick search but didn't find anything. Where can I purchase a main spring. I looked at czcustom.com but didn't find anything. Is it easy to replace?

A 15lb. hammer spring is good weight to go with. Some people use 13lb. but they sometimes cause light primer strikes. Here's the spring. http://www.gunsprings.com/Semi-Auto%...ID16/dID91#838 Mark

Thanks for the info everyone! Are these springs easy to replace? Or do I need a gunsmith to do it?

It is easy to do but requires 3 hands ;-)

I will refer to the CZ-75 manual because that is what is online but the P-01 is exactly the same:

Discover CZ's newest firearms, articles and activities. Shop online, use the configurator, and find dealers near you.

                  1. Remove grips
                  2. Push out upper mag guide pin (part 25)
                  3. Push on mainspring plug on bottom to relieve tension (part 22)
                  4. Pull out mag guide (part 24)
                  5. While pushing main spring plug, push out main spring plug pin (part 23)
                  6. Plug falls out with mainspring (part 21), replace and reverse process.

BTW, changing the mainspring will make the DA pull much lighter and the SA pull pleasant but it won't take away the gritty trigger or make it any less creepy or spongy. ONLY a trigger job with the competition hammer will make the gun go from good to f**kin' awesome!

If you are in Los Angeles, I shoot at "A Place to Shoot" in Santa Clarita .

I can bring my CZ-75 in 9mm with its competition hammer and trigger job and 17 lb mainspring and competition fiber optic sights. I also have the .22 Kadet Kit which is why I run the 17 lb spring, anything lighter won't reliabley fire those .22's. More info here: http://shooterdude.info/cz-75b/

Be advised that you will fall in love and not want to put it down!

Awesome, thanks for all the help guys! Now I need to order that spring. I shoot in LA and OC, I would be willing to let anyone try out my P-01. I don't pick it up till Tuesday though.

Is 15# going to be too light? They have 16 and 17# springs also, or would it not make much of a difference? Sorry for the questions, I am not too familiar with spring info.

Sorry, just saw your post. I got it at Bain and Davis Gun Shop in San Gabriel. It was $595.
