    BSIS Firearms Training Classes Available

Not sure if this is in the right place but if you are a Mod and want to move it feel free.

I am an instructor with years of experience in the military, LE and civilian. I give classes for people who are interested in getting their Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. You would need to be an American citizen, have a valid guard card, and have a basic knowledge of how to handle a firearm and shoot. THIS IS NOT AN INTRO TO HANDGUNS CLASS! If you want to know more feel free to PM me.

BSIS is equivalent to the old guard cards, right?

    Thanks.

BSIS is the state agency that gives the guard cards.

I have a class on Feb 8th and 9th. The class is a pretty good price, and at the end of the class you will have all the state paperwork filled out and ready to go. We even do the livescan on site to help speed it up.

Would this class allow one with a valid guard card to carry while on duty or is it just an informational class?
                  It's too late, it's over.

I'm wondering if this is just a guard card only. Another place was much higher than the cost the OP mentioned.

RP1911, sorry about the response time, I tried earlier but its hard to reply when driving.....

The cost of the BSIS firearms class is $125 for the admin fee + $25 for range fee. Those both are due at the time of the class.

The livescan is not required at the time of the class but it IS needed as part of the package that you send in to the BSIS.

                      Per the BSIS website:

Submit a firearm permit application, pay an $80 application fee and submit a Live Scan form (which is appropriate to your license or registration) signed by the Live Scan site operator. A $38 Firearm Eligibility application, $32 Department of Justice (DOJ) fingerprint processing fee and $19 Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) fingerprint processing fee must be paid at the Live Scan site.

Basically, to take my class you just need to pay $150.

This does not include the guard card class. We offer that as well for about $80. Im not sure as I dont teach it.
If you are planning to take the firearms class make sure to tell the livescan guy when you get them done. If you get the guard card and firearms livescan done at the same time it will save you a bunch of money.

This class is the one needed to be able to carry on duty as a CA licensed security guard.

It is one day of classroom and a half day of range time. If you are a shooter then this will be super easy.

I try to make it as quick and painless as possible.
