    smith and wesson value question?

i want to sell my smith and wesson model 10 revolver, but i don't know how much to ask for it. it has 3 bullets stuck in the barrel and the barrel has a bulge in it. so it will need to be replaced i have a gunsmith who wants to buy the whole thing from me but i dot want to get ripped off, so what is a fair price?
here is a pic of the gun
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

Only 3 bullets stuck in there? Sheesh, the fourth round OBVOIUSLY was going to clear them all out.

Whoops, that's not good to be keeping bullets in the barrel like that
      That's not a model 10, btw, it's a 5 screw M&P (pre-10) made before 1950. Later model target grips.
In that condition, probably only worth $100 at the most. Too bad the original barrel has been destroyed.

I think you would be lucky to get $100 for it.

You would get more by selling the parts. 40 or so for the grips and another 50 or so for the cylinder. Maybe another 100 for all the internals. Then trade the frame in at the next gun drive for a gift card.

Joke? The gun doesn't fire. I would say 100.00 is being generous. It's gonna have to be refinished. The new barrel will never match. That will kill any collector value it may have had. Carry on though I am no firearms appraiser.

why not buy a cheap barrel and have it put on?

              did you call s&w?

you could also have the barrel and ejector rod cut down.

I'd buy it if you were closer. I've been looking for a gun just like this, bulged barrel and all.

                ugh.

If you get down to around the OC I'll give you $100 for it.
