Sig P2022 jammed or double load

Bought a brand new Sig P2022 9mm a couple of months ago, took it out to the range for the first time and within the first 5 rds, it jammed. Kept getting jammed constantly as I went through about 200 rds, at times one after another til the clip was empty, sometimes even double loaded. The range master came by when he notice how often my Sig jammed, asked a few questions, answers were: brand new gun, cleaned it 2 days prior and using Remmington and Blazer ammo. He says it's a good gun, shouldn't jam and since I just cleaned it so most likely cheap ammo is the cause of it. Told me maybe Sigs are just "picky" and only likes certain brand of ammo. He recommended trying Fiocchi. Any inputs?

do you own any other sigs??

if not here is a trick,if you do not properly hold the sig grip and during recoil your hand/thumb can move upward and engage/partway-engage the slide lock thus messing up the natural slide movement..

        No, first Sig.

Thanks for the tip, that's the second time I heard that. I guess I'll try it again at the range and see if I'm engaging the slid lock some how.

Yes, both the Sig and the ammo.

What he said. Happens often on first time SIG shooters, until you realize that and morify your grip slightly.

Ok, is there a write up on how to properly grip a Sig? Or is it just a feel your way around kinda thing?

those ammo you shot are fine....i doubt it is ammo related. Try borrow another magazine(used preferably) and see if the issue persists.

If it's from that Turner's batch then there is most likely an issue with your gun then and will have to be sent back to Sig to sort it out. I don't know much details as I cancelled my order for a 2022 once I found out about this issue. Others will chime in I'm sure.

I definitely think you got a lemon from Turners. My SP2022 has shot everything I fed it, from Federal bulk ammo to underpowered reloads. It has never jammed or anything short of a successful cycle, every shot. I did not get my SP2022 from Turners and as another poster already pointed out.. there is a full thread about these Turner terds.

Might want to consider sending it back to Sig to get it fixed.

I have SP2022 40s&w bought in October, put close to 500rds mixture of WWB, Fed Champion (both from Walmart) and MilWall reloads with only 2 jams (from Federal Chp). However, the gun gave me another problem with the hammer dropped after the slide cycled! it even did that when rack the slide and let go of it, or hit the slide release. Very frustrated and the gun was almost operated as double action during my last 50 rds. The de-cock works fine, and so is everything else, I guess some sort of action mechanism was malfunctioned. Took it back to Turner and they're sending it back to Sig for repair

Alright, reading the thread now on page 3...will go over it and try to grip it differently at the range one more time before I take it back to turner's.

Don't trust turner anymore. After all they are the ones that sold you the lemon and they knew it.
                              Deal with Sig directly.
