Just picked up a Glock 21sf, used from a fellow Calgunner and all I can say is wow. It was in very good condition previous owner told me a low round count and from the looks of the rail and breechface I totally believe him. It did come with a captured stainless steel recoil rod, but it had the factory spring rates on it.
This is my first .45 acp. The .45 acp is a pretty sweet round, I was really expecting more flip and push, but its a really sweet gentle push. Lining up a .45 acp, 10mm auto, .40 S&W and .357 Sig, its pretty hilarious how big and fat that acp looks. I gotta say I'm smitten by this lil fat boy.
I don't know if its the longer sight radius but on my first outing with it, I was astonished at how good it was making me look. I don't usually post picks of my targets these were at approximately 15 yards after about only 50 rounds. Each pastie shows 2, 10 round mags, slow fired offhand. I only had the time to put about 2 boxes downrange this weekend but the 21 really put a big smile on my face. Been shooting alot of 10mm, .357, and .40 from Glock compact and subcompact frames, so I'm used to the Glock system. I can't wait to put a G20 longslide on this thing.
The grip is sizeably larger than the G17/22/31/24/34/35 frames even though its a SF model. I'm hoping a Hogue Handall slip-on won't make it too big for me, its a handful to say the least. I noticed that I hand to constantly shift my grip because it wasn't just right between my first and second knuckles on my middle/ring/pinky fingers. I dying have a second go at it this weekend for some double tap, mag evac fun. I'm gonna commandeer a more worthwhile camera to snap some pics for it and post them up later. For now its going on nightstand duty.
