Cz 75 wolf recoil spring help

I'm having trouble installing my new wolf recoil spring in my cz 75b in 40. I can't seem to get the guide rod and the new spring all the way in.

The spring doesn't lay straight it'll have a bit of a bend, like:

The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Had to place it against my desk to get it to compress enough interesting no bend though.

Yeah I thought that was interesting. It requires a bit more force than I thought it would to get it to fit.
