      watch out for sadness.

One of the purposes of the gun was to have a pretty wicked hi-capacity. By being a resident of california, you are setting yourself up for much sadness, since it will be cut in half to 10 rounds.

Oh yeah, and price gouging on ammo. If the round gains popularity, the price will eventually go down, which would be pretty nice, since the 5-7 is kinda itching at the edges of my "do want" list.

Basically avoid looking up any of the goodies you can attach to it, or use in a SMG SBR format.(stupid california). It'll drive you nuts with how crippled the whole system is for this calibur.

But understand the weapon is limited in Calipornia because of Magazine limits.

My daughter (13) loves to shoot it. There is NO RECOIL at all. Some factors
        to consider:

        1. It weighs under a pound; almost like a Mattel Toy. Uncanny how light this gun is.

        2. The normal ammo around California is SS 197 blue tip. About $20 buck a box. Slightly more powerful than .22 magnum. Certainly more able to penetrate objects.

        3. Real zippy more efficient ammo can by had; the downside is it's expensive but having one box would cover any situations you might encounter:

        4. In reality this weapon falls into the novelty/collector realm. It's not the first gun I would grab in a Home Defense situation; neither would you. We have .45 autos or Glocks for that sort of thing.

        5. At around $1000 (plus or minus) and $20 a box (still less than .45) for ammo this weapon is not for the Budget Minded.......it's for FUN. If you buy the gun for FUN you will get your money's worth.

        6. The NORMAL mags are 20 rounders. And the weapon comes with 3 of them. 10 rounders can be had; 30 rounders as well. One advantage to this weapon is it's LIGHT WEIGHT. So this might be a great weapon for an extended back-packing trip.

        7. The Ammo situation is something to consider. I buy it when I can; gun shows have it available. In the stores it can be close to $25 or $30. Online is the way to go for now. After Feb One expect ammo to skyrocket. The Anti-gun crowd could care less about honest lawful gun-owners.

I have no plans to sell my Five-Seven. Maybe someday I will get a PS 90 as well.

It's also in the AR platform as well if you have a hankering to go that route. Uses the PS90 mags.

I've seen the ps90, and it's hard to imagine how much fun it must be to play with something that has such a high capacity, and full auto (Although i don't think they call the FA version ps, can't recall at the moment).

Great little gun and it's given me a reason to build an AR57. I bought my ammo from here...

like people have said the biggest downside to it is that we cant have standard capacity here in CA

I would imagine that out of a rifle , the 5.7mm round stops being a "22 mag" like people like to think of it and becomes more of a fragmenting/yawing round like the 5.56, and I would love to have a magazine with 50 rounds of it

                    one day!

its an awesome round which will kill anything you put infront of it if you place the shot correctly (ask anyone shot with one; oh wait, you cant cuz they are all dead! seriously look for any reports of anyone which has been shot by one and you will see they were all killed!). if you can, get a new gun.

I think any gun is capable of killing

Love to shoot mine, but the height of the front sight annoys me(not for precision shooting). Its really tall since the slide steps down as it goes toward the barrel. If you threw a red dot like the Burris FF or the new Leupold, it would be an even better shooter than it already is.

                              reloading 5.7

It's a real pain to reload. Dillon does not make a conversion kit for it, but there is a guy out in Las Vegas that made/makes a Dillon 550 conversion kit. Check out the 5.7 forum board. Plus it really likes pitching the brass out there. Not a neat little pile like some semi-autos do. Personally I keep looking at the Keltec 22 mag, pmr30. To bad it's not on the CA DOJ list.
