    Springfield Armory TGO-1

Has anyone seen them for sale? I'm looking to get one for my dad's birthday. He didn't have enough money to buy it when they first came out, so he bought the TGO-2 instead. I know they're rare, any help would be appreciated. I already looked on gunbroker, and gunsamerica. Also asked all the vendors at the Gun Show in Costa Mesa, they all gave me that "retarded" look LOL

    Thanks

I think that Field Time had a used one for sale about a month ago. It had been there a while and may still be. Please note that they have a TGO-2 in the area with the new 1911's, the other one is with the new guns. They have it labeled as a TGO no # and I would call SA with the serial to confirm, unless someone else has better identification information.

I'd look into high end dealers like Gun Gallery. http://www.gungalleryjax.com/
You might have to give your pops an IOU as they don't come up too often, but you'll have a better chance with them and gunbroker than ordinary dealers. Really cool present. Good luck.

The noticeable difference between the TGO-1 and the TGO-2 is that the TGO-1 has a "Custom" on it on the end of the slide near the barrel, and the TGO-2 doesn't have it.

        That's the TGO-1

The TGO-1 is basically a "Professional" version, the ones that the FBI uses. I might stop by, is it the Field Time in Westminster? If so it's really close, and my search might be quicker than I thought.

Will do thanks, His birthday isn't coming up until like July, So I have plenty of time to search around, hopefully one pops up that's considerately priced.

You've made an excellent, excellent choice, sir.

I have one. What's a fair price on a low mileage example?

OH MY GOD! That was quicker than I was expecting, I was seriously searching for like 6 months, I have about 2k saved up right now, I'm willing to pay like 2.5-3.5k. If not let me know how much, I still have more paychecks to cash in Was expecting to find one later down the road when I have saved enough money.

Well I had no intention of selling it but $3500 is a pretty attractive number. I have all the original paperwork (considerable with this model) the magazines and extra set of slim black grips it came with.

There is a real clean one at Southern California Gun in San Diego- #008 I think. It's consigned for $2495 and can be dros'ed after the 12th. Don't know if it comes with the box and accessories.

I figured that was the response you were hoping for. I decided not to get it or I wouldn't have told you about it. pretty much the perfect 1911, ;cept for the ambi safety ( I don't like those)

the only other thing is how to set up the deal to not pay sales tax on such a big ticket item. If you can locate the owner and do it pure PPT face to face, that would be best.

totally agree with you, I have the Professional, and I love it to death, Figured my dad would also love it, He always talked about how great it was. Thank you for sharing! hopefully he still has it, and he's willing to do a PPT. Wouldn't want to pay tax on a potentially $3,000 gun
