    i don't get it!!!!!!!!!

I don't understand folks that respond to your "for sale" or "for trade" threads on handguns but then don't follow up or ever respond to your PMs. Are they trying to get additional posts or are they trollers. Why waste their time and mine..weird. Flakes.......

Is that worse than someone who posts something for sale and then ignores your "I'll take it" and multiple PMs and doesn't reply even if it's to tell you to jump off a cliff?

ive had 2 seperate incidents where I posted "pm sent" after the "new rules" were posted up, both times the mods deleted it! and guess what? my pm never went through! how lame is that? both times, so I lost both buys and the seller never knew I wanted it. For some reason, my messages always get deleted, but the person after me with a "pm sent" does not. im sure it gets deleted after, but wutever! anyways, yeah I know what your saying, people post and dont. People are not too responsible thee days, i think out of everything ive ever bought here, there was only one time I had to flake, but I was having some finance problems and the seller was understanding. Now, I dont say anything unless I know for sure! Kinda funny cause tomorrow im buying a Mossberg 930 from a member here

Or worse is when you deal with someone who can't make up their minds and completely waste your time. There was a trade I was working not too long ago. After the deal seemed pretty solid, I called that day off from work so I can meet up with the dude to make the exchange.. I crap-you-not... he starts texting me past midnight and tells me he's developing sentimental feelings on his gun and doesn't know if he wants to trade. He follows up with like half a dozen texts about how he only wished this and that.. then the gun would be perfect.. I was like whatever, everyone makes mistakes on decisions (mind you he sent me like a dozen texts even before we finalized the deal). So I was already over it and thought "at least I'll just relax on my day off" - he texts me the next day around 7am... when I was planning to sleep in, wakes me and my girlfriend up... telling me he wants to do the trade afterall. Follows up with over a half dozen other texts while I'm getting ready... then gets sentimental again and backs out.

It was like, wow... really? I'm not your mid-gun crises therapist... To top it all off.. I actually saw him recently sell the same gun. At the very least, it looks like he actually came through this time because the thread was closed with the gun sold.

I think I know this guy...

My favorite was a guy who posted " I'll take it. SOLD"

Then PM'd me the day we were to meet up to inform me that GOD had deeemed it not the right direction for him to go at this time in his life.

On second thought it might have been better that he flaked.

I was selling a lower and the buyer gave me some great excuses, all within a two week span. We were going to do the DROS at riflegear during the costa mesa gun show, he was driving down for the show. I got:

                    1) My car broke down on the way to the gun show.
                    2) My car is at my buddy's shop, waiting on a new transmission

When I followed up I got:

                    3) My mom got in a car accident.

Then I never heard back from him. Oh well..

i agree. the "new rules" is the lamest thing ever on calguns for sale section. i am still listing and buying guns from that section, but it's tougher than before. my feedback will speak for itself. old rules were way better!

Hahhaa, these are like the most common excuses I get from Craigslisters.. even over simple little things like video games. I admit, overall, I give most people the benefit of a doubt and I'm fine with everything as long as they don't waste my time. I just really like it when you have to make an effort to call them just to hear one of these stupid excuses.

some guys are very solid except when it comes to... money, women, job history, substance abuse problems, honesty, memory, keeping their word and car problems.

yup! the only problem is that people post bumps all the time! so if you have something oddball that no one wants to buy, it ends up in the 4th page within an hour! lol, the new rules should of been no free bumping. pm sent and ill take it should be allowed. and it should be up to the seller to "bump" up his own posting. The solution would be if only if the seller posted something like "TTT, BUMP, or new details" it would bring the posting to the top of the list, and if people posted "ill take it, pm sent" or anything else, the posting would not move from the spot its in. That way, there is a recorded time that distinguished who wants it, and in what order. pretty simple if you ask me
