CA approved list exemption for rimfires?

I'm looking to puchase a H&R model 999, they're pretty hard to come by in CA. I see alot of them for sale on the east coast, is there an exemption for rimfire handguns for the CA approved list?
Buying a safe and sane firework is like paying a hooker for a hug. I do not see the appeal in it.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

.22s are not exempt. It appears the H&R is a double action and would have to be on the list unless it is exempt as a curio (I do not know the details for this exemption).

There were two of 'em in one of my LGS last time I was in. IMO overpriced so I'm sure they're still there.

              If it's 50+ years old, then it's a C&R.
There is a C&R exemption to the approved list.

Ironically most CA shootings are by .22 from what I hear.
