    Apex Tactical: M&P RAM review

I had the chance to get together with Scott from Apex Tactical this last weekend. He had some of his famous M&P parts with him so I asked him if he would install the RAM into my M&P 9mm. He agreed and we went out to the range.

I already have the Apex DCAEK kit installed and it made a world of difference in the trigger. It really took out the "mush" from the trigger and it was a big improvement. After trying out the Apex RAM kit, the reset is extremely positive and the trigger reset breaks like a glass rod. The reset was fantastic.

I highly recommend these parts for anyone that wants to improve the stock trigger on the M&P pistol! Now the only thing left to do with this gun is pick up a set of Warren Tactical sights!!

I'll definitely be picking one of these up once they make one for the 45.

Dammit, Nelson! I was saving up for a 1911. Looks like the M&P is getting bumped up a spot or two on my list.

Glad the parts are working out for you, though!

I wish we could have had more trigger time, but it was fun nonetheless We'll have to compare guns the next time and see how my compact stacks up. BTW, try my Heinie sights again before deciding on the Warrens.

When are you jumping on board the M&P train Richard?

That's exactly why. I'm afraid I'll like the M&P more. Then all my "Get the Glock 34" raves goes straight to the toilet.

I'm afraid the grass is greener and the Kool-Aid is sweeter on the other side...

Nice little review. Looking at one myself to go along with the DCAEK.

                        ????

I read were the trigger break can get close to a 1911. What are your experiences?? What is the difference between Apex and Burwell???

The Apex is a kit with new pieces to enhance the trigger. Burwell works the stock trigger pieces to improve it.

Mike.....just get the M&P. The reset is even better than my GGI W. German 226.

Rich(Black) Its okay to love more than one gun.

Apex Tactical is a huge asset to M&P owners For a small investment of about 100 bucks and some change, the DCAEK and the RAM you've got a completely different animal. Its easy enough to do the work yourself and you don't have to wait several weeks (with paid shipping to and from the smith) to get your gun back.

Jdsons, my particular gun has a great feel to it. The reset is pretty short and breaks like glass. I've only had two 1911s and I hated them both (Kimber 1911 and a Sig GSR With a terrible trigger and function). The next time I can get my trigger measured I'll post the results.
