does anyone know if the new Hk 45 will be available in CA and when it gonna be released? if not available here is there any other way to get one?

There was a lot of hype about this gun last year but it seems to have fallen off the face of the Earth . I don't think H&K released it thus far. Wiki has some info on it and they don't even have it listed on H&K's website. As for California the handgun must have the chamber load indicator and the magazine disconnect . Sooooo my guess is it won't be CA approved? So either it's gonna have to be brought in by someone moving into CA or by a LEO then transfered to you in a private party transfer.

If you have an out of state family member - a grandparent, parent, child or grandchild (and no one else!) - they can acquire the firearm, and gift it to you as an interfamilar transfer. This is legit under CA law, and there's no restriction on the giver being in state or out of state nor whether the handgun is Rostered or not.

Hoevever, this must run thru a CA FFL to keep the Feds happy (as state lines are crossed) - but the DROS system can be overridden with exempt. It may be a good thing to have a gift letter from your eligible family member that gifted the firearm to you copied to give to the FFL for his file.

I really hope it comes out here. I also hope you can disable the mag disconnect easily...

In it's current form, the HK-45 & HK-45C do not have a magazine disconnect. So far, H&K is not saying if they are going to release a CA version with a magazine disconnect.

It's all a wait and see game. We'll probably know by the end of this year.

I think HK is possibly covering themselves already with the new restrictions on their new models. The P2000 is designed for a loaded chamber indicator & mag disconnect. Right now you can get a P2000 in Kali with only the loaded chamber indicator. So, if the HK 45 is equipped with a mag disconnect, I guess it could be sent in for a "repair" job on the mag disconnect.

This has been on their website since at least April.

It's USA and it's called "New Pistols for 2007"

That pdf file is included in the Wiki link I provided.

The pistol itself is still not in their lineup on their USA website either.

What is up with the spiderman grips on the full-size HK45?

That is a huge drawback, I prefer the grips on the compact but I already have the USPc.

Hmm... you consider this "spiderman"? It looks extremely functional to me.

I have no doubts its functional, but it still looks like a spiderweb pattern. I will end up getting one, but the compact grips are much cleaner looking.
