My New Dan Wesson Pointman 7 Has Been Released

I am SO impressed with this Dan Wesson Pointman 7! Just got her out of Ca Jail... (had a few guns waiting for me at my FFL, LOL).

The fit & finish is way beyond expectations. There is absolutely NO play in the slide at battery, or when pulled back. And the slide feels like it is on rollerbearings. Just silky-smoth. It is a very well fit & finished 1911. I've always believed DW was the best value for a 1911, but this knocked it out of the park. I also own a 2010 CBOB, which I love, and has the same fitting. And I have a 2009 PM7 that will go in for some customizing...

And the trigger is classic DW, maybe 5 lbs or less, but a very crisp snap.

If anyone is looking for a great value in a 1911, check out Dan Wesson. But they'll only make like 100 of these in 2011, so be on the look out!

For anyone that is curious, I think I paid $1175 for this one, and I hear DW will NOT be raising their prices in 2011.

Thanks for letting me vent here....

(any discoloratrions or smudges are from grease - just got her home)

I got my PM7 from the FFL in January. I can only tell you it gets better after you shoot it.
I was told the slide is a really tight fit. I have used Tetra Gun Grease on the rails since I got it.
I had 2 FTES in the first 100 rounds. Both were the last round out of the magazine. Not sure what this means, but it has not happened since.
        Enjoy!

I am digging the rear sights they look like they sit real low but they are adjustable very nice gun over all
That punk pulled a Glock 7 on me. You know what that is? It's a porcelain gun made in Germany. Dosen't show up on your airport X-ray machines, here, and it cost more than you make in a month.

                  Thanks folks!

After fondling & shooting my CBOB, I can see what all of the fuss is about. It feels SO GOOD in my hands...I can now understand why I'm not the only one that feels that way.

                  Thanks!

If you don't mind me asking, where did you get it for that price? brand new? does that include tax & DROS? or just the price of the DW?

                    thanks!

Yes, Brand New. I purchased a 2010 PM7 and a 2010 CBOB from SoCalguns.com (website not updated last I was there).

But it's more of a question of "can I locate one", than "what price or bargain can I get"...situation.

Those prices do NOT include sales tax, shipping, nor DROS or FFL fee. Those are all addirional.

                      Perhaps $1175+110 sales tax+25 shipping+75 DROS= ~$1385. You be the judge...

I'd suggest you go to (to research them):

And keep updating yourself on the stocking issue, they have a speciasl thread for that - or pre-order one..

It's a great 1911, and even if you do not get a *superior price*, you will only know you have a great weapon, and probably forget what it cost you.

They are a great bargain, and I would sugest NOT hessitating when/if you find one.

Again, only 100 PM7's were made in 2010, and again only made in 2011. But they can be had....

                      Good luck.

(the 2010 models have a forged frame. But I understand NO DW has MIM parts).

                      Peace...

But please keep in mind, the additional cost will likely apply to ANY firearm purchased..
