      I would vote no.

Reason being is that you would have a "long gun" (on paper) that is less than 30" long.

I thought it had to be registered as a pistol like how AR lowers are done?

✟ In the beginning was the 1911, and the 1911 was THE pistol, and it was good. And behold the Lord said, "Thou shalt not muck with my disciple John's design for it is good and it workith. For John made the 1911, and lo all of his weapons, from the designs which I, the Lord, gave him upon the mountain."✟

It doesn't matter how you get there, if you have a < 16" barrel on something with a stock, you've got an SBR.

If the upper is what's registered as a rifle, then that is what needs to stay a rifle. If you want to build a pistol, you would need to purchase a pistol receiver and build it up without a stock.

I am doing the same with an UZI. Like the Sig, the Uzi upper is what's registered as a firearm.

I am going through a bunch of crap right now trying to get my pistol receiver. You very well could need an 07 FFL to build the pistol for you and transfer it to you that way. That's what certain people have told me anyway. I am sure those that know will be here shortly.

If the firearm was a rifle, it should remain a rifle or other non-pistol long gun.
