    Glock 22 Conversion?

Im looking for info on the 40 to 9mm conversions for the glock 22 from anyone thats done this.

    I would like to know:

Can you use standard mags? Id assume yes but would like someone to verify.

Whats the process is it quick and easy to do?

Is the barrel all you need to replace?

And does anybody have a reliable source for the conversion kits.

Id appreciate any help i could get on this.

Havn't seen a conversion from 40 to 9mm. I would think the mag well is larger than a 9mm? I know you can change your barrel and convert to a 357sig.

You need the barrel, extractor and G17 mags.

      Works fine.

Yea, you can convert a G22 to a 9mm, no problem. The only problem is when you try to convert a G22 to 357 sig - you can only do it with a 2nd or 3rd generation G22 (it has to have the finger grooves on the grip). According to Lone Wolf, the prior ones don't have enough strength in the frame to support a 357 sig round. Other than that, it's cool.

Lone wolf has a barrel for the 35 to convert it to 9 they might have a barrel for the 22. Then all you need is mags no other parts.
I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

I converted my G35 from .40 to 9mm with a Lone Wolf barrel. Barrel locks up tight and shoots very well. Jarvis, KKM, Bar-sto, and a few other manufacturers also have conversion barrells.

You will need G17 mags because the follower and feed lip design is different between the .40 and 9mm. Some recommend that you change the extractor also, and some even the trigger housing with the 9mm ejector (bends inward instead of straight .40 ejector), but when I switched out the parts, I started getting failures to extract and eject so I switched back to the original .40 extractor and trigger housing and it is flawless again. Individual experiences may vary but I would say don't change it yet unless you are getting failures.

              Happy shooting.

I got a Lone Wolf barrel and 9mm magazine. Didn't change anything else, and everything worked perfectly.

It's a great way to save money on ammo compared to .40S&W.

I'm looking into it also...but I think Lone Wolf is out of stock on conversion .40-9mm barrels.

Me too. No extractor chance was required.

Since I like to tinker and I like options, I would always get the Glock 22 if given the choice. Three caliber possibilities out of one gun with the switch of a barrel and mags, what could be better?

I now carry both the 9mm and .40S&W barrels for my G35 to the range every time, just in case I feel the need to shoot both calibers. It is great. Even IF you can't afford to purchase the parts needed for conversions right now, it is still better to have the CHOICE!
