Will we see this pistol in CA?

Anybody know if the new Kimber Aegis pistols will be available in CA?

If it doesn't have a loaded chamber indicator and a magazine safety, no, they won't be available in California (except as PPT). I can't see any mention of those features on the web site.

Yeah, I was wondering if anyone knows if Kimber submitted the pistol for approval. That pistol is what I was thinking for a custom build: lightweight, "short" barrel", 1911 ergonomics. Perfect!

Unless they got something submitted earlier - which I doubt - this doesn't have either one of the SB489-mandated 'safety' features.

So, no, it won't be generally available in CA except for rare instances of people moving in with one and selling via PPT.

I doubt it, but I do know of an RCP here in Cali

What the world really needs is a ffl with a store in nevada, california, and a u-haul dealership.

I would think that even if you were moving into the state(CA) and had one....
Because it in not on the list ........It can't be brought into the state period.
That is my understanding....... unless law enforcement. Is this correct or not?

                    No, that's not correct.

If you're moving here the only (almost) things you can't bring are magazines that accept more than 10 rounds, and Assault Weapons as listed by name or features.

I'm showing my complete lack of understanding here, but can you get an out of state relative to buy the gun then PPT to you?

No, that is not a possiblity unless your relative is planning to move to California and make this their residence.

From my understanding, the "relative" has to be a parent and the parent can transfer the firearm without moving to CA.

I've been trying to talk my mom into moving out of state.

What I've never been able to get a clear answer on is what happens if you just pop up out of nowhere with a voluntary reg form for a non listed gun.

The reg form has entries for when the firearm was aquired and whom it was aquired from. If you answer this truthfully on a gun imported from out of state illegally, you'd be incriminating yourself.

Likewise, if you said you had it for 15 years, but it only started in production this year, someone might notice and ask questions...
