    S&W M&P9vsXD 9 update.

Well just a quick catch up I was trying to decide between the Glock 19, M&P 9, XD 9. The M&P eliminated the G19 in terms of ergonomics and accuracy for me. Now this is just me every gun will fit every hand and every shooter differently. Here's the link http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=367172
I just didn't like the price. So I said let me try out the XD since those three guns are at the top for polymer perfection. Shot great. I'm surprised at how far technology has come. I'm sure you guys can get better groups. I'm just comparing how I shot with the different guns. Are the ergonomics better on the XD to M&P? no way. The M&P has a rubbery feel to the frame along with adjustable backstraps. Is it worse than the M&P? nope at least not for me. What springfield did was get rid of that hump behind the magazine. For me with little hands it means alot. So it fit fine, shot good and good price. The most winning factor was the price. It's alot cheaper than M&P plus you get three free magazines from Springfield. You just can't beat it. I was going to go with XD in 45 and M&P in 9mm. Of course on lay a way. But the Xd 45 felt huge. There is a noticeable difference. If you have large hands you won't feel it. For me It was uncomfortable. You get 14 rounds of .45. I couldn't justify the large grip since I'm a normal person I'm restricted to 10 rounds. So I bought it in 9mm. Now I'm not knocking the M&P later on I'm gonna buy it also. It's just for my budget, especially with the holidays, and springfields rebate it couldn't be beat. Because a post is nothing without pics.

the last pics is a 3 shot group. I'm not sure what happened with the other shot. It's by the blue tape.

Congrats on your selection. I like the fact you went and held them to see how they fit for you. As for price, one thing I keep in mind is that you will spend more time in ammo cost than the cost of the firearm. I've got one pistol that I've spent $3500 worth of ammo through it. At one point, I bought a 9 mm version of my favorite 45 to save some money on ammo costs and I have shot enough 9 mm through it where the savings over 45 ammo has made the 9 mm essentially free.

My point is that within reason, don't worrry too much about a couple of hundreded dollars difference in pistol cost. In the long term its a drop in the buck in the cost of yourhobby.

Enjoy wearing in your new pistol.

Congrats! I love mine! I need to go out and shoot an M&P to see what the hype (Not bad hype) is about.

              M&P

It's a great gun. Later on money permitting I'm going to pick it up. Alot of folks don't like the trigger. I was like that also. I was like how is a trigger that bends in the middle possibly any good. Well I was wrong. I like how it flexes in the middle. That's all your take up or slack. After that the trigger breaks clean.

at 7yds or 15 cant remember to be safe lets say 7.The larger holes uptop are from my 1911 45

I used to have an XD-40. I just hate that the slide is so damn heavy causing increased recoil. Plus I hated the trigger. The M&P9 was the perfect choice for me. I can pick up the apex DCAEK if I want to change the trigger, and the slide isn't nearly as heavy.
