No thank you! Not exactly the Sig most are hoping for to be on the approved list. I guess we sure got pooped on this time. This could be one we can do w/o atleast imo. Elites would have been a better choice. Glad to see the equinox is there cause though, atleast you get a nice looking pistol w/ nice features.

Seriously though, except for the rail, how is it any different than an older 220? And I don't see the color as anything exceptional if that is the only difference. It looks nice, but if that is ALL there is, then that's somewhat lame. I just can't get excited about it.

But when are they going to put the 220YO Urban on the list, you know, the chromed one with pearl grips, 24Kt gold trigger, hammer, and other appointments, with sights mounted on the side of the slide? Now THAT would be something to get excited about... holmes.

The P-220 Combat has corrosion resistant internals like that of the P-226 navy, consider it the P-220 army, so yeah it's a little more durable in the sand than you P-220 west german (which mine is :-P)

Yeah, because last time I went to the indoor pistol range, there was so much sand.

My stamped steel West German P226 has no problems with corrosion...



This is what happens when you play 6 stages of IPSC and leave your gun in the case for a week without even a wipe down.

Don't be alarmed. It cleaned up with a little elbow grease and CLP. The rust is oxidized dirt from running around the range.

The 220 combat has a number of enhancements vs the standard 220. Whether they float your boat is up to you.

- phosphate coated internals for rust resistance and lubricity.
- nitron finish which is standard on newer 220s
- chrome lined barrel.
- the earth color is not paint but some sort of coating which is more durable than the standard anodizing.
- the front strap has vertical cuts. I would have maybe preferred the horizontal cuts like on a 229 or checkering like on the STs, but anything is better than smooth.
- brown grips. not sure if there is anything special about them other than color.
- night sights.

Basically it is a ruggedized 220. There are a couple of torture tests on the 220 on youtube.

Is it earth shattering? No. Is it a nice addition to the collection? Yes. Will we ever see the other cool sigs like elites or 220 SAOs? probably not without an awful lot of trouble and expense.
