    Glock Gen 4

I had a Glock 19 model. I sold it cause I couldn't get used to the trigger. Now with this interchangeable back strap they have caught my attention once again. Now I have shot them so I know how they shoot, I like how the new Gen 4s feel. I'm just uneasy. Every other thread and video on the internet complains about the dual recoil spring. Whats up with that? Should I buy it, or just wait a while till Glock fixes this issue. Is there even an Issue?

Does any one the measurement on the diameter or circumference of the gen 3 vs gen 4 with no back strap? I want to know if the gen 4 19 is indeed smaller or is it all in my head. Thanks alot guys.

    PRK has gen4 for 599.00.

The Gen 4 Glock is not readily available for most of us in California.

Even if you are in a class of persons allowed to own a Glock Gen4, the fact you didnt like it before, tells me you are not going to like it now.

Before you commit to a course of action to buy a restricted issue handgun, you should find someone near you who has one and fire off a few hundred rounds.

On the other hand, since so few people are allowed to own them, you could easily get 10% more for the gen4 if you decide to sell it.

we scumbags who are not allowed to buy them new, can buy them used, and some of us are willing to pay extra to get a restricted firearm.... not me, but others.

PRK like some other vendors has them in single shot form so anybody can buy one.

The trigger hasn't changed, but it is indeed smaller in grip compared to GEN3. The question for you is, does the comfort of the smaller grip supersede your dislike of the trigger? If it doesn't, save your cash and get something that you like, otherwise you will end up selling. I actually prefer the trigger on Glocks YMMV.

Gen 4 is 2mm smaller than Gen 3. It fits my hand much better than Gen3. The trigger is heavier than Gen3.

I love the new texture on the Gen4s. With regards to the recoil spring, just be cautious who's complaining about them. My Gen4 has been working fine.

                RPK

RPK has single shot conversion so that anyone can buy them. I'm no one special either. I think I can get past the trigger, I have felt some awesome trigger jobs that were unbelievable. But before the grip felt like I was holding a bar of soap kind of bulky. Right now I'm just worried about reliability. I have never had to send a firearm back to the manufacturer. I don't want to start now.

I'm conflicted too as I want a G17 Gen 4 but that shorter and sturdier trigger bar, resulting in heavier trigger pull, is a bummer.

My Gen 4 G19 has been reliable as all my other Glocks. There are some who question the dual recoil spring but I have not had aa single issue with it.

For every one person who complains about that problem, there are 5,000 satisfied customers. Glock has already worked it out. Go ahead and buy it. If you don't like it, you will get every penny back and then some when you sell it. It's a win win.

When you say that you couldn't get used to the trigger, what part exactly could you not get used to? The trigger pull length? The trigger pull force? The feel of the grooved G19 trigger itself?

I put a 3.5 lb connector and a NY spring on my G19 (comes out to approx 4 - 4.5 lbs, about the same as my Kimber), and I also put in a smooth G17 trigger. It makes shooting a few hundred rounds in one session more enjoyable and easier on my finger tip.

I have the lone wolf connector in my g17 and it's smooth as smooth can be.

Does the single shot conversion alter any part of the pistol? Once you convert it back to "normal", would anyone ever be able to tell if it had been converted?
