MPA Mac 10 clone 9mm or .45 ACP

If you were to purchase one of the Masterpiece Arms MAC 10 clones which would you get? 9mm or .45 ACP and why?

Sten mags are cheaper than grease gun mags and I already have over a dozen sten mags.

9mm is cheaper than .45, so that's what I would choose, although it wouldn't be a Mac 10, it would be a Mac 11/9.

Suppose the 9mm easier to control and probably more accurate than the .45 auto too, especially when bump firing.

Honestly, the only reason I see to own a gun like the mac is for plinking and range fun. Not for self-defense, there are better weapons for that. For this reason, I believe the 9mm should suffice.

I agree, the pistol models seem to be rather pointless, in their legal configuration. The rifle/carbine models on the other hand...

I'd like to pick one up in both calibers but, right now I'm leaning towards just the 9mm.

I'm pretty sure it is also possible to change calibers, based on my limited knowledge of the mac. I think if you get a .45, then you can buy a new upper assembly and bolt, and also a magazine well insert to convert it to take 9mm with sten mags as well. Something you should look into.

EDIT: now that I think about it, that ^ conversion kit may not work with a Mac that fires from a closed bolt. You would have to ask.

I prefer .45 overall, but in that type of gun I'd go 9mm.

Amen, plus from my understanding the mac's have really bad trigger slap, so I'd assume the 9mm would have less trigger slap then a .45
