Kimber custom ii vs springfield loaded

In overall accuracy, material, durability, etc, etc, etc.... which do you think is best? or in other words which one would you rather entrust your life to?

I'd preferably like to hear from people that accually have or had experiance with both and overall someone that accually knows what their talking about. Nothing personal to anyone its just I dont feel like throwing away my money due to false info from people. Also I shot both and like em the same.

BTW please dont choose based of what maker you personally like more, but rather on which one is simply better.

I think I've sen this topic about a dozen times. Cheers to you for invoking a non issue too. Simply better? Yeah, good luck with that.

        Kimber vs Springfield

Both are good pistol and depend on what option and how much you want to spend.
Have both of them and like them both.

I have shot both and they both work quite well, for me I will be buying a Loaded Longslide once I have $1000 not needed for 50 other things.

BTW anyone taking bets on how long till a "Get a Glock" post shows up?
Yes, I am an electrical engineer.

Forget Glock...The guns you are looking at are worth more from and individual standpoint compared to a Glock.

I would take either. I looked at the Kimber and Springfield. The price is prohibitive from a ROI standpoint for me but if I left my wife I would get both haha.

The Custom II vs the Loaded.

This is the BMW vs. MB, Ferrari vs. Lamborghini, Toyota vs Honda, XBOX vs PS3, Sennheiser vs. Audio-Technica, Blondes vs. Brunettes of questions.

It's been covered considerably, people have gotten the banhammer over disputing the better of the two. But lets have some fun, shall we?

The Kimber Custom II will have a Swartz firing pin block, activated by the grip safety and is the least desireable of the firing pin block safeties. You'll also hear gripes about Kimber, but that was due to their failed external extractor design. The over all gun is solid, don't mind the nicknames you'll come across such as MIMber. MIM isn't really an issue, if it does break it'll break early in the gun's life. Comparing the Kimber to the Springfield, I find it is better fit. The finish is pretty lackluster at best with their cheap black oxide, which wears easily. The edges aren't as sharp as the Loaded, and most of the time out of the box trigger is crisper on Kimbers vs the Springfields, when comparing similar models.

So, how does the Springfiel stack against the Kimber? Pretty well actually. The Springfield will be sans-FPS which is desireable. Instead, you'll get the internal locking system in the mainspring housing, something which is easily replaceable. Springfield's main spotlight feature is their excellent customer service. You'll really have to handle, and if you can, fire both weapons. They'll both shoot and handle differently, and one should speak to you more than the other.

Oh, since we're talking Kimber vs. Springfield, don't forget to toss in Smith and Wesson, as well as Colt into the mix.

                Good luck in your search.

I think you might just open the flood gates to some heated debate. It might be best to do a Google search on this very commonly discussed topic. Its like Coke vs Pepsi, Butter vs Margarine.

Tip: To do a better search on any forum its best to do it in Google with the forum at the end of the topic. Ex: Kimber Custom II vs. Springfield Loaded calguns.net

Try using a few non Kimber Mags first, Kimbers are notorious for bad mags. If its still happening it might just be a week recoil spring. I'm no expert, hopefully some of the other guys can help diagnose your problem.

A 1911 compared to a WASR 10? There is no contest.

It's one handgun per month. You can get your 1911 and your WASR.
