Its not the CZ SA trigger that comes with the CZ75SA and the CZ TS which only has overtravel.
The aluminum trigger it more stright down with a mild curve in it the CZ SA trigger is curved more and doesn't have the extra adjustment.

Ah, yes I forget that there is an aluminum version of the trigger I have in my SA. I had mine chromed with the other components.

The biggest problem I have with CZ pistols is that the thumb safety is too far. Does this custom thumb safety make it closer?

That is the standard safety on the SA version. It is a little closer than the standard safety. Angus Hobdell of CZ USA is in the process of getting custom safeties made that extend back further similar to a 1911.

Those CZ's are really nice looking. Only CZ I have ever shot was a 52. Didn't like it much but after seeing these CZ's I may have to check them out next time I am at the gun store.

I bought mine from Bud'sGunShop http://www.budsgunshop.com for under $500, shipped. I special ordered a pair with factory night sights. You need to make sure you get the one with the frame mounted safety, NOT the decocker model (decocker model SP01 is not CA-approved)

Sadly, I called Bud's and they are all out of SP-01's with 10 round mags. Inquiring whether Bud's will receive new shipments, the salesman stated that CZ is not shipping anytime soon.

One possible good news is that this month, in two separate shops which many of us know and frequent in the Bay Area, had SP-01 Tacticals. One shop had it with 19 rounders, and the other had 10 rounders. I was surprised to see this, but I could see how some dealers can work around the stupid roster and still be CA legal. Perhaps they were allocated for law enforcement sales. Or perhaps because the stupid roster did not specify TACTICAL or non-TACTICAL.

I also read on CZForum that CZ may now put Tru-Glo's instead of Meprolight as standard NS.

                  All speculation, of course.

i thought the model the threadstarter has is an SP-01 Shadow?

Kilword's fine specimen sure seems to be made to look like the Shadow, since the Shadow is not on the stupid approval roster either. Kilword also performs his won trigger jobs.

difference is in the thumb safety.

I got mine from Irvington Arms last week. I never even got a chance to shoot it when Kilword came over and swooped it up to do his Voodoo on it. I bought the SP-01 specifically so he could make me a competition gun like his. Give Irvington arms a call they can have it in a few days.

The roster is for the standard SP-01, or SP-01 with night sights. The SP-01 Tactical is significantly different than the SP-01, in that it incorporates a decocker rather than a frame-mounted safety.

I would stay AWAY from the SP-01 Tactical since it is not named on the Certlist, or is an option in the DROS system. It's like the Kimber Raptor - the Raptor II is listed and legal, but you couldn't get away with getting a Raptor II Pro and say "well, they're close enough."

My SP-01 from Bud's was a special order from CZ, since the SP-01 is not commonly available with night sights from the factory. Bud's quoted me a couple weeks from the day I ordered/paid to get it in their stock from CZ, and it showed up at my dealer in under one week.

I think Bud's operates under the "quote high, deliver low" mantra when it comes to delivery expectations, which is nice - it's longer than I wanted to wait but less than I was prepared to wait, which is always appreciated.

ETA: and, of course, check with Irvington Arms - Martin is great with special orders. Heck, I can't get a darned SP-01, so kudos for him on being able to.

Wow that is sweet! I was thinking of putting a CZ on the short list and now you just help me make that decision.
