HK USP Rail ?

Everning Guys,

I am really contemplating buying an HK USP or Glock and a Streamlight TRL-1s . Now I think i will need a rail adaptor if i decide to go with the HK since it is not a universal rail like on the Glock ? If so can you guys direct me on the cheapest ( price wise ) for these Adaptors if i do decided to go with the USP, thank you

I'm my opinion a weapon light is a weapon light why fork over extra $$$ when you don't have to?!

Granted, it's proprietary to the Hk, but I'm not switching it to another gun.

To the OP. Look at where the switch is located....Unless you have abnormally long and flexible fingers, you will have to break you grip a bit to activate it....I hate this. I have to use the back of my off hand index finger knuckle. Let me see if I can get you a small video or picture for you.

The TLR 1 for example, I can activate it with my thumbs, where they would naturally be anyways....Only reason I have not bought a different light yet, is beaux I am holding out for the Blackhawk serpa and the xiphios light.

Other than its switch, its designed well. Quick attach/detach and bright. You can get the remote pressure switch, but thats just one more thing to mess with/hanging from your weapon.

For my intended purpose of investigating what goes 'bump in the night', it works very well.

Get the GG&G adapter and be free to choose from different light options rather than be limited to the UTL. I have a GG&G on my full size USP with an Insight M3X. I bought the shorter GG&G adapter meant for the USP Compact because I also have a USP Compact and wanted the option on switching back and forth. The smaller USP Compact adapter DOES work properly on the full size USP. With this setup I can use the M3X or a TLR2 or whatever. The upside of this is not just the wider selection of weapon lights you can use but the greater likelihood you can find a good deal on one. The Insight UTL M2 is $190! A TRL1s is about $100-$120.

The downside with the GG&G adapter is that you are limited when it comes to holsters. If you want to use a GG&G railed USP in a concealment holster it will most likely not fit since the adapter adds bulk but it should fit with the light attached in a holster made to accommodate a mounted weapon light. For example, my USP Compact with the GG&G will not fit in my leather Galco belt slide concealment holster and my USP full size with the adapter will not fit in a Safariland concealment paddle holster.

True on holster limits.....But having a USP, your already limited!

Yea... I found most holsters that accomodate lights/lasers are for duty weapons... no surprise there.

I am actually leaning more on the TRL-2s for the Laser option , as far as drop leg holster or regular holsters. Are there any option for the Full size USP either 45 or 9 for with the GG&G and TRL series light ?

Yes...Check Safarilands website.....But, if you like the serpa from Blackhawk and have the time to wait, we were told by our rep that these would be available soon.
