Should I buy it? (Sig P226)

A friend is selling me his Sig P226 9mm for $400 plus PPT fees. It was bought brand new in 1992 or thereabouts. It has about 500 rounds through it (less than 1,000 rounds for sure). Regular sights and in "like new" condition according to him. I haven't seen it yet but I do trust him on stuff like these.

I have a P228 from 1993 made in Germany, over 1,000 rounds down it and it's still as solid as the day I bought it. It's almost identical to the P226 except with a 4" barrel.

1992 would be a W. German gun and you would be very happy with it.

Around $600+ for like new.
