    Smith and Wesson 66-7

What would I expect to pay for a NIB S&W 66-7 - 2 1/2" barrel? Also do you know if this has the lock on it or not?

    Thanks,

    FCinCA,

The Model 66-7 does include the lock, new-style cylinder release, two-piece barrel and MIM parts. With that said, I've had zero problems with my -7 model and it's accuracy is very good considering the short sight radius.

Original "new" price in 2004 was around $500-$525. Excellent condition used models will probably fetch $400-$450, depending on the dash number.

For some reason older S&W Revolvers are going up in price +$400 , I would search on S&W Forums to get a good going price

$400 for a -7 in used, but good, shape seems reasonable. Pre-lock and vintage 66's will command a premium. Pinned and recessed examples, like my 66-1, will command a major premium and are getting harder to find with each passing day.

For what it's worth, I won't buy any Smith with the internal lock, nor the two piece barrel. Call me a purist, but there it is.
