Need some help...post Glock 25 cent trigger job.

Admitted rookie here, and I just "finished" my first 25 cent trigger job on my G19. I am having a couple of problems...

    1) Racking the slide seems gritty and more difficult.
    2) The slide now stays open when there is no magazine.

    What have I done wrong?

Fortunately, this is not my primary and was purchased for the purpose of learning. That being said, I learned that I have a lot to learn.

Take the two front pins out again, remove the slide catch. re-insert top pin, then slide catch, then bottom pin that holds catch.

What happens is people assemble the pins In the wrong order, the top pin will lock the slide catch spring up, causing the slide to lock back EVERY time.
And cause friction when the slide moves (gritty feeling)

Just redo the assembly. No worries.

Pull every pin and every part out clean and reassemble. Nothing better but learning about yr wepond inside and out. There are instructions on the net how to do this. I do this with every one of my guns and when something I can norm figure it myself.

Oceanbob has it. I was just fiddling with two of my Glocks last night. So give us a little detail as to what you did in your 25 cent trigger job.

^this in response to #2. If you put the slide stop back in wrong the spring holds the lever up all the time instead of holding it down unless the follower of the magzine is pushing it up.

.25 trigger job is polishing the contact surfaces between the sear and trigger bar

as my G26 is a CCW pistol, it doesn't even have the .25 trigger job, however my G19 has that plus a set of springs and a 4.5 trigger bar and it's much sweeter shooting than the G26

$0.25 trigger job is just polishing the contact points in the internals of a Glock. So, once you detail strip a Glock, polish all the contact points on the trigger bar, connector, striker plunger etc... $0.25 in polish.

It's also a great time to swap for a lighter connector as well as changing to lighter weight springs.

                              Roger that. Seems pretty simple.
