Mateba legality

Yes...my wife still lives in AZ and has not taken residency in CA yet. My concern is with the "interchangeable barrel" and "compensator." I had a Walther P22 that had an changeable barrel that was threaded and this was considered to be an AW...I believe. Just want to make sure that the mateba was legal to posses in CA so that when she moves she can file the new resident paperwork pay the $19 and legally have a mateba. From what I am understanding so far the gun itself is legal...despite interchangeable barrel and compensator...just not on the DOJ approved roster so I can bring it in as a new resident, correct?WTB - prelock smith 44's -
I posted this info in another Mateba thread AND I'm posting it here as well, so nobody sees one without the other if a search is done 6 months from now, and gets the wrong info seeing only one thread for some reason....My concern is with the "interchangeable barrel" and "compensator." I had a Walther P22 that had an changeable barrel that was threaded and this was considered to be an AW...I believe. Just want to make sure that the mateba was legal to posses in CA so that when she moves she can file the new resident paperwork pay the $19 and legally have a mateba. On the threaded barrel issue, the law says:
12276.1. (a) Notwithstanding Section 12276, "assault weapon" shall also mean any of the following:
(1) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine and any one of the following:
(A) A pistol grip that protrudes conspicuously beneath the action of the weapon.
(B) A thumbhole stock.
(C) A folding or telescoping stock.
(D) A grenade launcher or flare launcher.
(E) A flash suppressor.
(F) A forward pistol grip.
(2) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has a fixed magazine with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds.
(3) A semiautomatic, centerfire rifle that has an overall length of less than 30 inches.
(4) A semiautomatic pistol that has the capacity to accept a detachable magazine AND any one of the following:
(A) A threaded barrel, capable of accepting a flash suppressor, forward handgrip, or silencer.
(B) A second handgrip.
(C) A shroud that is attached to, or partially or completely encircles, the barrel that allows the bearer to fire the
weapon without burning his or her hand, except a slide that encloses the barrel.
(D) The capacity to accept a detachable magazine at some location outside of the pistol grip.
SO, THE MATEBA, WHILE SEMI-AUTOMATIC, DOES NOT HAVE THE ABILITY TO ACCEPT A DETACHABLE MAGAZINE. IT MUST HAVE THAT ABILITY IN ORDER TO MAKE THE THREADED BARREL ILLEGAL!!
Being a revolver loaded in a conventional manner as other revolvers, I don't think it will be easily accepting a detachable a magazine any time soon. Therefore, the threaded barrel on the Mateba is completely legal in CA - and screw the 58 DA's.
