Walther P22

Someone in the for sale section has a P22 for sale. It says that it has been CA modified. Is this legal to bring (have shipped) from out of state, or do I need to find a P22ca... He is in Washington(i think)

I may be wrong, but I don't think it can be sent to a California dealer for transfer since it is not on the list of approved handguns.

Found out that the gun is in CA... He is just out of town for school. We will be meating FTF for a transfer before Christmas....Hopefully at BigMac's shop...

So, I might be doing this in the wrong order. (find out if gun is crap, THEN agree to buy ) Does anyone here have one? How do you like it? What should I look out for?

As I said... He is a CA resident away for school, but the gun itself is here in the state still...... I will be meating him so no shipping will happen... Already have a High Standard .22 I just wanted a nice little "space gun".....

Before I bought my CZ, I came very close to getting a P22 - until I realized the Cali versions are neutered. At the time (this was about 9-12 months ago), the general understanding was to get a P22 with a serial N xxxxxx and an A in the magazines. These were slightly redesigned to eliminate feeding issues.

Thanks DJ... I had heard the same thing about the early guns and mags...Thanks for the link..... This perticular gun was sent to S&W to be "refit" so I am assuming it is one of the early ones... My fiance is 5'2" and about 110lbs, so I am hoping that this is something she will be able to shoot. When I hold it in my big paws, it almost disappears, so I figure it should be just about right for her....
