    safariland owners help

So I picked up a used Safariland 6004 holster for my SP2022. I remember reading that silicone based lube is needed for the inside suede-like material. Is there a certain brand/type that I need for this?

No kidding? I've been using mine for years with nothing on it. Seems to be fine.

Wash it with warm, soapy water, and then use any silicone based spray to finish it off. Use a towel to remove remaining moisture, then let air dry.

is there a certain brand to stick with though or just go to Home Depot and ask for silicone based lube?

I just use whatever HD or Lowes has on sale. I spray the interior down pretty good the first time...until it drips out...then let it air dry.

That video clip was very good...a lot of folks forget to lube the release

What kind of quick detach is that????I could really use that as I often have to switch to a leg drop or chest rig.

+1 on the quick detach! I hate having to deal with all the screws every time I change rigs!

hmm I've never cleaned the inside of mine, although I do lube the release hinge for the hood. That quick release system looks interesting, might have to invest in that as well.

Interesting. I havn't seemed to have issues with my 6280 with no lube.

The quick release system posted looks interesting. I can really see that as being useful around the house and going back and forth between duty belt and desk/nightstand/etc.

The quick release system is awesome, but anyone using it for duty needs to make sure of their retention requirements. It is only level 1 pull rated and even my job requires a minimum of level 2. Most police will probably level 2 or higher as well.

So I ended up going to down to Home Depot and buying the a bottle of silicone lube. I did notice a difference when holstering my pistol. Goes in smooth, just the way lube should be ahaha
