LCP transfer question

Ok so the way I understand it is I can buy a LCP 2nd hand from lets say an LEO who decided to sell one he didnt like or use.

Hypathetically speaking If I knew someone who lived in another state who could buy one and legally posses it could that person bring it to California in their travels ( lets say he was visiting) and go to an FFL and sell it to me?

Or is the only lawful way to get one in California to buy from another Californian?

PPT only works between CA residents. You must either single shot exempt, PPT, or intrafamilial transfer off roster pistols.

If it is a child, parent or grandparent of yours, not step and no other relationships will work, they can gift it to you through a California FFL, if has to go through a Cali FFL to satisfy Federal requirements since it it coming from another state. they can either send it to the FFL or hand deliver it if thy are coming to the state, and with Family transfers, the firearms are roster exempt, as long as it's not a California prohibitive firearm, such as a Assault rifle or short barreled shot gun etc..

And also keep in mind, if it has a magazine, it has to be a ten rounder or less, High caps are still a no no, if it does have high caps, and you want them , they can be sent disassembled for repair parts, or for use out of the state, but if you are going to have them sent with the firearm dissembled, make sure the accepting FFL knows this and is ok with it. or have the mags sent directly to you disassembled.
