    Need some help on XD9's

The XD9 5" tactial are CA legal right? I'm particularly thinking about the OD green. If not then the black one.

I looked on DOJ's website and I found the model but it only said XD9404 on DOJ's website and on Springfield's site the part number for the OD model is XD9404HCSP06.

Does XD9404 just bein listed on DOJ's website mean all their models starting with that number are legal in CA?

    Depends.

The gun you referenced is the "high capacity" model ( XD9404HCSP06 ) so it comes with naughty capacity magazines. If this was the 10round mag package ( XD9404SP06 ), you'd be GTG.

And remember, no matter what you get, you can always duracoat a firearm VERY easily. The color thing I wouldn't be too concerned about and as a side note, I LOVE my XD9sc.

You can reliably duracoat plastic? And it will last?

I think the only OD XD tactical not on the approved list is the .357 & .45GAP every other caliber is good to go.

Oh yeah, duracoat will last on plastic without issues at all My aluminum guard was duracoated right over the factory paint they used on the VTAC handguard as well as an anodized upper assembly in titanium gray and I've definitely put it through some hard use and its still holding up phenomenal.

The dreaded list shows 4 XD's with 5 inch barrels in 9mm

XD9131 - Not on Springfield's web site in the 5" tactical listing
                    XD9411 - Not on Springfield's web site
                    XD9401 - Black XD 9mm Tactical (I have one)
                    XD9404 - OD Green XD 9mm Tactical.
