    Glock 30 locking block fail

After passing ~50 rds of 230gr Winchester (Wal-mart special) through my Glock 30 (non sf) I had the locking block totally sheer off the receiver. The gun was purchased brand new and it came with the Gen 4 recoil spring (duel rate).

Glock said they would fix it.

Anyone else ever hear of something like this with G30's?

      Are you sure that's a Gen4 spring?

I'm not sure about the spring. I just know it's a duel rate.

It's possible that one of the rounds was over loaded thus causing the barrel to collide with enough force to sheer off the locking block ramp. the pin was the only thing left.

May have just been a poorly cast locking block (fluke?).

I guess I will find out more from Glock when they fix it.

All I know is my Springfield 1911 (purchased used) has gone through 1000rds of +p and 5000rds of standard ball amo with 0 problems.

All the small Glocks use dual springs. It's a fluke, there have been a handful of Glocks, mostly early 40S&W, that busted locking blocks. Overloaded ammo usually blows the gun up. Do you have a picture of whats left of the locking block?

Unfortunately I don't have any pictures.
Just imagine the most clean looking sheer points on both the left and right side of the receiver where the locking block ramp once was. The metal from the locking block that is part of the plastic receiver is still there. The "bridge" that joins the two sides (the ramp) is 100% clean gone. The only thing keeping the barrel from going all the way back is the pin that holds the locking block to the receiver (runs perpendicular to barrel/receiver).

It looks like it was surgically removed with almost 0 debris or other damages.

The ramp that the screw driver is under is totally gone on my gun.
