I was wondering what a fair price on a Dan Wesson Pointman 7 these days?

I'm assuming that "ask" price is no longer the current going price on a used PM7 correct?

What would be a fair price?

There's one on Gunbroker with a buy it now price of $750. I saw a bunch of old postings with NIB asking for around $1,000-$1,100.

Well the buy it now is actually $850 I misread. I'd say that's an OK deal, although once you add in shipping/transfer fee you're looking at closer to $950-$975. You might try placing a few bids... maybe he'll PM you the reserve price.

yea... FFL transfer is $50, shipping is another ~$50, so that's $950... would that still be a good deal? I know I saw them going for about $1100 here on CG...

Guess it all depends on the condition etc. If it's in good condition I'd say it's an alright deal if you can get it for less than the "buy it now" price. You might also want to check what year production it is. The new ones have forged rather than cast frames IIRC.

I paid $1,000 for a used one at a gun show in Washington. It was a private sale a few months ago. I was happy with the deal.

Sounds like a good deal then. Never hurts to see if you can work out a deal, maybe if you buy it now he includes shipping? If not seems like its worth buying either way, maybe not a steal but hey.

Sometimes you can get great deals on the net, but you MUST ask your FFL what they charge to accept firearms from other FFL's.

Some wont even bother, others charge a heavy fee, and some just want your business so they are reasonable.

Do your research and make an educated decision. I saw that listing on GB and you have to decide if a used pre-CZ is worth the price hes asking.
