Looking to trick out my glock

I have a model 22 and I wanna completely trick it out for idpa uspsa steel and three gun open class. I'm not sure on all the rules but I'm just a weekend shooter.

I'm looking for a complete or semi complete kit or a place I can send my gun to, to get it done. I spent the past few hours online with some success but it's all just random parts.

I was looking into an STI 1911 but I think it's gonna be way cheaper to fix my glock up. Yes I know 1911 is a much better gun but I'm just a weekend shooter and can't even think about dropping 3k right now.

Last question, am I better off buying a gun? Am I going about this the right way? If it helps the serial number is ntb aug 09 blue label glock model 22 and everything is factory.

ok, here's the thing... if you like your glock... get a trigger job, polish the ramps, get some tritium sights, have fun with it they are great guns. Now if you don't like your Glock, no amount of bells and whistles is going to change that, you are just going to have a gun that you don't like and have spent a LOT of money on

if a 1911 is you gun... don't throw good money after bad... keep the glock, they make great backups... save your pennies, $20 here, $40 there and in a year or so, buy the gun you want

I'm looking into tricking out my glock to save money. I'm not much for hand guns let alone 1911 but I really wanna shoot more classes and three gun. I watch lots of guys shoot glocks and run the comp. From what I can tell there is no reason not to trick out my glock. But I'm here to learn.

So far I love my glock, fits great but I don't shoot many hand guns so I wouldn't know what perfection is. I obviously don't wanna waste money so I wanna either trick the gun I own out or just be pacient and save up for a full STI race gun or similar.

What should I do? Is glocks worth tricking out? Can they compete against 1911? Where can I get a complete set up for my glock?

realize that in a gunfight or competition, it's 90% the shooter, 10% the gun

make sure and shoot some 1911s before you buy one, some people do not like the way they fit.. to each his own

I want it faster, crisper, with a compensator, better barrel, bigger mag release, mag well, smoother slide. The fit I'll do over time. Just a full race gun to get me a better shot at 3gun and other comps.

The shooting aspect is being worked on. Two days a week, plunty of classes and lots and lots and lots of trigger time.

Just shoot it more and attend matches to see what you really need to do to the Glock. I shoot in the CDP Division of IDPA.

I had it a year. I'm bord with it and it seems not too accurate. I barrowed my friends glock and 1911. I shot great with his glock. Plus I always wanted a cool race gun to play with... Like most of us. I want to try and broaden my eyes to hand guns

ok, I've owned a couple glocks and may even buy another.

if you go full race, then you will be competing with the big dogs..

new barrel is a great idea, caus you can't shoot lead in a factory glock barrel and if you are going to be competitive, you are going to spend several times the price of the gun in ammo... even if it is lead

the glockworx trigger is an easy drop in option and will get you 90% of what a big bucks custom trigger will get you, I thought my glockworx trigger was great as glock triggers go (which I can't stand)

sights, get some opinions from the other competitors, if you ask a question, the hard part is getting them to shut up once you have your answer, then ask to get a sight picture with their gun. find a site that is both accurate and quick on the target acquisition for you

The G22 is a great platform to build a race gun. Everything you asked for can be done to a Glock.

Does anyone offer complete service? There is a great gun smith up here that I'm sure can help me install parts. I'm not sure how complicated some of this can become.

You dont need any gunsmith to install parts for your glock.... Glock is the easiest handgun out there to work on. Search for you youtube videos. Trust me. You dont need any gunsmith.
